Ceramic hydroxyapatite foam as a new material for Bisphenol A removal from contaminated water

Ceramic hydroxyapatite foam (CF-HAP) was prepared by combining slip-casting and foaming methods. The CF-HAP characterized scanning electron microscopy (SEM), physisorption of N2, Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD). results the specific surface area SEM analyses revealed that used shaping method provides with a wide range porosity including macro mesopores. Based on FTIR XRD analyses, is similar to pure well-crystallized hydroxyapatite. adsorption 94% BPA concentration (40 mg/L) effectively removed from water maximum capacity higher in acidic than basic medium. thermodynamic studies indicated reaction spontaneous endothermic nature. increased temperature chemisorbed ceramic foam. isotherm data fitted slightly better Liu Freundlich Langmuir models suggesting homogeneous occurred only monolayer. process depends largely well pseudo-first-order model. This confirms interaction between mainly chemical analysis fresh showed all hydroxyl phosphorus bands characteristic shifted after Bisphenol A. suggests A sites Therefore, it can be concluded has potential as an adsorbent for wastewater treatment purification processes.
